Will the real Leeds United please stand up?!

Where to begin? It's not so much sport but finance that takes precedent I suppose.

Well, we are owned by Bates again. Sort of. I think. Some company, headed by Bates, bought us from KPMG. We have filed a Company Voluntary Act which absolves us of paying most of our debts and filed for administration with the FA. We are deducted ten points this season and start next year in League One with 0 points, just like everyone else. Now, and I say this as a loyal supporter, this makes a mockery of football.

The ten point penalty was introduced to prevent clubs being mis-managed and reneging on debts, and yet this is precisely what has happened. Not only that, but this is costing me money, and you for that matter. By not coughing up unpaid tax to the HMRC the taxpayer foots the bill. Bates is a disgrace and the FA should reject his takeover, but they won't. Wise is useless and should be replaced, but he won't. I am not optimistic about next year.

On an aside, we lost to Derby on the last day of the season. The fans behaved themselves, thankfully, by young Mr Bayly did not and marked his debut with a red card for a head butt. Twit. Can someone post in the comments what players we will have for next year (i.e. which are on loan and will go back, which will leave for pastures new etc) as quite frankly the extent of transfers and loans this year leaves me baffled.

Am sure you will join me in mourning the loss already of Mooro who the official website says goodbye to today.

Apparently he wanted to stay and help us get back up again. As discussed on this site before, he is one of the few players who have actually looked like they cared this season ! So we have decided to sell him, even though he didn't want to go. This does not make sense. Like everything you say above which I agree with, there is some odd decision-making going on down at Elland Road (where the lads play football).

I am fed up with making excuses for my club's ridiculous behaviour. Don't get me wrong, I'll keep the White flag flying forever and ever, but it's tough being a Leeds fan at the moment.
And no, next season I don't expect a respite either.

Moore was complete crap and one of the top earners in the squad.

I feel very ambivalent about what is happening at our club. Bates has obviously had a long term plan. The debt is amassed in his own company to ensure he wins the CVA vote - he disposes of the company 6 months ago to stay within the law (really who would buy a company 22 million pounds in debt!). Morris' offer was forty times better but is rejected!!!

Bates is undoubtedly very very clever - as a cynic he may even have seen the upside to relegation as it has enabled him to get total control of the club on his terms.

In the end though it is all about where we go from here. Like it or not Wise and his grandad are here to stay. I am at least pleased that Rothery and Parker have been retained - Lund, Madden, Parker, Bayly (if he uses his head differently), Wilkinson, Delph, Gardner, Howson, Elliott, Rothery and Rose is a fantastic youth basis to move forward from. Kelly, Crainey, Douglas, Kishishev, Thompson, Healy, Gray, Lewis, R. Elliott, Johnson, Einarsson, Nicholls, Foxe, Derry, Moore, Stack, Cresswell, Blake, Beckford and Sa will almost certainly all not be back next year. That is 20 almost certain exits - he should beg Ankergren to stay. Flo, Marques and Heath will probably stay. Westlake, Richardson, Carole and Kandol are also good bets to be there.
That is a basis of 18 players for next season.
They should reduce the size of the squad to give scope to the youngsters but would still need around seven players to come in. Here's my wishlist.
1 Young Knight the Boro goalie as third choice.
2 Vaughan from Crewe on the left side.
3 Someone like O'Brien to come in to give experience at the back.
4 Chris Eagles on a loan deal for a season with a view to a permanent deal.
5 Nick Montgomery from the Blades to add a bit of steel.
6 Lee Morris off his temporary deal at Yeovil.
7 Try to splash out on Carlton Cole if not go for Malcolm Christie who could fire us straight back up.

Ankergren, Richardson, O'Brien, Marques, Vaughan, Eagles, Montgomery, Rothery, Rose, Christie and Flo. This would be a vast improvement on last season and likely to fire us up twice!!
